Within Reach

Grey skies,
grey houses...
regardless of the brick color.
Life is not supposed to be black and white.
trees peek up on the skyline...
veins in the sky,
pumping hope to my brain.
I want to pull the strands of pink and orange,
the shades that tinge the sky,
barely visable in the corner of my window.
I want to pull them and place them in a bottle....
To look at on a shelf forever.
But that would destroy it's freedom,
And shelves with pictures of a sunset,
are the reasons no one looks out their windows anymore.
